Cheryl Leong offers psychotherapy services in the Mission District SF & Downtown SF. She believes in paying close attention to every client’s need and finding an approach that best fits. A marriage of depth, compassion and evidence-based pragmatism are the elements that drive her therapeutic approach.

Her training and experience allow for a unique blend of transactional analysis,  the gottman method, expressive art therapy and cognitive-mindfulness.

Cheryl Leong has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is a California State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #52417 under the Board of Behavioral Sciences. She has 17 years of psychotherapy training and experience in both San Francisco and Singapore.

Her experience includes psychotherapy with individuals, families and couples/poly relationships. Her experience includes work with relationship challenges, childhood issues, general anxiety and depression, drug and alcohol use disorders, adult ADHD, eating disorders and trauma work. She has a special interest for working with inter-cultural relationships, the LGBTQ community, women of color and immigrant population.

As an Expressive Arts Therapist she is an associate of The Living Arts Counseling Center. She is on the organizing committee for the United States Transactional Analysis Association.
